Senior Audit Manager
Karen Reed has been with Smith Dickson for almost 20 years. She currently manages the firm’s financial statement engagements including audits, reviews and compilations. She also performs tax compliance work and supervises substantial tax controversy work, including negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization and the Employment Development Department regarding audits, notices, liens, levies and payroll tax issues. She advises clients on their internal control structures. Additionally, she coordinates clients/controllers/chief financial officers and their bankers and attorneys.
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Finance and Marketing, she worked an Accountant at George Brazil National Headquarters and as an Auditor for First Interstate Bank.
In her spare time, Ms. Reed enjoys running, cooking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband and busy children.
