Karen Reed has been with Smith Dickson for over 30 years. She performs tax compliance work and supervises various tax controversy issues, including negotiations with the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, and Employment Development Department regarding audits, notices, liens, and payroll tax issues. She currently manages the firm’s administrative functions, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and engagement letters, as well as the firm’s required AICPA Peer Review process.
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a business degree with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, she spent several years as an Internal Auditor with First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles, before working as an Accountant at George Brazil National Headquarters in Santa Ana.
In her spare time, Ms. Reed enjoys exercising, cooking, organizing, travelling, and spending time with her husband and busy young-adult daughters and teenage son.
